Let’s Talk Parks, Canada!
Canadians are invited to join the conversation on Parks Canada from January 9 to 27, 2017. Contributions will be received online at www.letstalkparkscanada.ca through e-workbooks and an interactive comment page. Six in-person engagement sessions will be held in Halifax, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Iqaluit and four public engagement outreach events will be held in large public venues in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, and Halifax.
The views and perspectives of Canadians across all of these forums will be gathered and compiled in winter and spring 2017. A response from Minister McKenna will be released in summer 2017.
Hosting the Discussion
One way to participate in the dialogue is to host a town hall session. These sessions can be small or large and can be conducted in your community or online with participants from other places. A “Do-It-Yourself Kit” has been developed to assist you in holding a discussion session, taking notes of the discussion, and sharing the results with the Minister. The Do-It-Yourself Kit can be found at www.letstalkparkscanada.ca.
Sharing Your Ideas at www.letstalkparkscanada.ca
Another way to participate is to visit www.letstalkparkscanada.ca and encourage others to do the same. The website allows users to complete an e-workbook questionnaire, participate in interactive discussions, or submit written contributions to the dialogue.
